I am so excited for Texas Frightmare Weekend!! There’s so many great horror celebs going this year! The only downside to so many people going is that I can’t afford to get an autograph from everyone that I want. Hopefully this post will help me narrow down my list. Although every guest is exciting, I am a college student and have limited means, so I must decide: who is worthy of my savings?
1. Norman Reedus
Reedus went to Texas Frightmare last year, but I unfortunately ran out of money before I reached his booth, so I still don’t have his autograph. He’ll be my first stop at the convention this year. You might recognize him from The Boondock Saints, or as Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead.
2. Sam Trammell
True Blood is one of my favorite shows, so I definitely have to get Sam’s autograph!
3. Danielle Harris
I am overjoyed that Miss Harris is attending TFW! She’s one of my favorite actors, and a personal hero of mine. I love how devoted she is to the horror genre. A lot of people act in scary movies simply to get their career rolling, but she genuinely enjoys the slashers she’s been a part of. I’m also fond of her because she tends to play powerful females, which I find inspiring. She played Annie in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II, and she was in Adam Green’s Hatchet II.
4. Gunnar Hansen
I have to get Leatherface’s autograph! I already have a Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster, so I’ll probably have him sign that.
5. Michael Rooker
Rooker played Daryl Dixon’s brother Merle on AMC’s show The Walking Dead, Henry in Henry: The Portrait of a Serial Killer, and Grant in Slither.
6. Tom Savini
Tom Savini is one of the greatest men in the horror genre. Without him, films like Friday the 13th, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Dawn of the Dead would be lacking some serious gore. The man is a master of his craft, and it will be an honor just to meet him.
7. Tony Todd
I can’t wait to meet the Candyman! Todd always brings a little pizzazz to the roles he plays , and has been in many great horror flicks like Hatchet II, The Crow, Final Destination 5, and Platoon. He’s scheduled to be on the next episode of FEARnet’s new show Holliston, and his film Sushi Girl is set to release sometime in 2012.
8. Ruggero Deodato
Cannibal Holocaust is of the scariest and goriest movies of all time, and I can’t wait to shake the hand of the man who made it.
9. William Forsythe
I’m a huge Rob Zombie fan, so naturally I’ve watched The Devil’s Rejects hundreds of times, and I enjoyed Forsythe’s Elvis-loving, domineering, dirty cop performance every single time.
10. Keith David
Keith David is the man. Whether he’s questioning MacReady’s authority in The Thing, butting heads with Roddy Piper in They Live, or creating serious tension in Requiem For a Dream, he always brings a presence to the scene. Even if I don’t get his autograph, I’m definitely getting a picture with this star.
11. Roddy Piper
To some, he is ‘Rowdy Roddy Piper’, the rugged wrestler. To others, he’s the badass bubble-gum-chewer who will take out any phony who dare step in his path. But, to us all, he’s a hardcore hero that we all look up to. I can’t wait to meet him.
12. Gary Pullin
Pullin is an extremely talented artist who has designed artwork for magazines such as Rue Morgue, Royal Flush, and Revolver. He’s worked with many bands such as Tiger Army, The Creepshow, as well as famous celebrities, like Clive Barker and Mike Mignola. He’s even collaborated with the superbeast himself, Mr. Rob Zombie. Texas Frightmare Weekend is lucky enough to have him as their official designer for the TFW 2012 posters and t-shirts, so I will definitely be picking one up!
13. Nathan Baesel
Baesel played Leslie Vernon in Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.
14. Piper Laurie
Laurie played Margaret White, Carrie’s mother in Carrie.
15. Clint Howard
Howard has been in many films, inlcuding Apollo 13, Austin Powers, and Down the Road.
