Clown was a fake trailer that appeared on numerous horror websites over the past couple of weeks. The creators of the short feature, Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford, claimed it was an Eli Roth production. Despite the positive feedback for the video, Roth could have easily sued the filmmakers for putting his name on a film that he did not endorse. However, this generous director/producer was actually very impressed, and instead chose to produce the full length feature. I think this says a lot about Eli Roth, especially because there are some directors who gain fame, and forget about the people trying to make low budget horror films with nothing but a jar of cash and a love for the genre. It’s nice to know that there are people like Roth, who are willing to lend a hand, and bring more worthy filmmakers to the big screen.
In the movie, a father who just wants to make his son happy on his birthday, encounters an obstacle hen the clown doesn’t arrive on time. He improvises, and uses a paint kit he found in the attic to dress up and save the day. However, when he drives to remove the wig and make up later that night, he finds he has a tough time removing the ensemble. As time goes on, the father finds that more about him is changing than just his appearance.
The cast for Clown includes Peter Stormare, Elizabeth Whitmere, Lucas Kelly, Laura Allen, Andy Powers, Dan Demarbre, Matthew Stefiuk, John MacDonald, and Christian Distefano.
