Do y’all remember a story back in November 2012 about a fake trailer catching Eli Roth’s eye? If not, here’s the lowdown. A group of friends made a fake trailer about a man who dresses up as a clown for his son’s birthday party, only to find that he isn’t able to remove the suit. Much to his horror, the father slowly begins transitioning into a real clown, and a terrifying one at that. The crew claimed in this trailer that Eli Roth was directing the film, which is a good way to end up in a law suit. Fortunately, Roth responded in a friendly way, and actually offered to help the friends make their dream a reality. Now, the once fake trailer is becoming a real film, produced by Roth, and simply called Clown. Roth’s help in the making of this film shows what a truly inspiring filmmaker he is, and at the end of the day, just a kind human being as well. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but look for this creepy feature to hit theaters sometime in 2014. Check out the first picture and trailer for the new movie below.
